#Byf 42 luger 5442 serial number#
The various parts are correctly numbered to the pistol, including both magazines, which are the late type three versions with the extruded aluminum base with the center pin, both have an "Eagle/37" proof over the matching serial number of the pistol. The left side of the receiver is marked "P08" below the toggle, which is correct for these late war production pistols. The pistols are Military accepted (E/135) and proofed (TP-3) they were produced by Mauser in August - September 1942 just before the mass production was halted in favor of the succeeding P.38. The right side of the barrel has a very small eagle acceptance proof and the underside of the barrel only has the serial number with no bore markings. It is believed that the German Army Waffenamt was the seller of the last batch of 42 byf Luger pistols to the Portuguese Military. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "Eagle/135" Waffenampt proof along with the Nazi eagle acceptance proof. Made by Walther Waffenfabrik, Zella-Mehlis in. Early production of 1942 with Numbered and matching magazine.
